Unreleased Columbine Maps

>>> The following crime scene maps were created by the FBI but have never been released. This marks the first time they have been made available to the general public. Copies were given to me by Randy Brown, father of Brooks Brown, a student at Columbine during the massacre. (The handwritten notations on the maps are Randy's.)

Maps 4 - 6

4. The authorities refuse to reveal where they fired into the school. This map clearly shows that they fired into the library, which is where the majority of the students were killed. The yellow lines emanating from the upper left area are trajectories of bullets fired by law enforcement. Notice that the two longest lines extend down to a row of computer stations. Students were hiding under these desks. In fact, the bullet trajectories end at the station under which the late Kyle Valesquez was hiding. This is not to say that law enforcement killed him, however. The official cause of death for Valesquez is shotgun pellets, which would rule out the long-range shots from the authorities. The longest trajectories appear to indicate that the bullets passed above the desk and lodged in something behind the computer, although this is open to interpretation. Thus, we see that law enforcement fired approximately nine shots into the library, with two reaching the area where many of the students were hiding.

5. This map shows the location of evidence retrieved in and around the school. It is significant because the evidence numbers given to these items are not contained in any documents released by the authorities. Thus, we have no idea what all of this evidence is, though we do know that the authorities are withholding evidence logs (despite their constant claims that they have released every bit of documentation).

6. This map shows the location of eyewitnesses who were outside the school buildings during the massacre. These witnesses were interviewed, but they are identified only by numbers. As with map #5, none of these numbers is contained in released documents. We have no idea who these witnesses are or what they saw, but we again know that the authorities have not made public all of the information they have.

Background

>>> On 7 March 2002, Randy Brown pleaded with a Colorado state legislature panel to convene an investigation into the Columbine incident. (The panel refused, voting 7-2 against finding out the truth about what happened that day.) This portion of his comments deals with the maps:

Through the Freedom of Information Act and open record requests, we asked for every map that was available through Jefferson County. We were given that CD-ROM sometime in 2001, if my memory is correct; I didn’t bring the exact dates. We were told that that was every map available.

We knew there were maps missing, so we made further requests through the department, and they did let us in a conference room where they had maps posted on the walls. Immediately upon entering the room, we noticed two other FBI maps that had not been released, along with 11 other maps. And here are photographs of them. [Holds up photos.] They have never been released by Jefferson County or by the FBI. One of these maps, interestingly enough, was the evidence files for the evidence logs for the parking lot area for Jefferson County. It still has never been released by Jefferson County to the public. The only copies that I knew were available were a few on a digital camera and these right here. Analyzing those maps for a number of months, I found there were no shells fired by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in front of Dan Rohrbough. There is no forensic evidence that proves that Eric and Dylan shot Dan from the front, and these maps prove that.

These maps prove many other things.

They prove that even though the police fired approximately 171 rounds, only 10 percent of those have been identified to specific police weapons.

They prove that the police fired into the southwest door of the school, and their bullets traveled the entire length of the hallway and buried in the front door of the school.

They prove that some police fired into closed rooms, where Eric and Dylan never were, firing at unidentified targets.

All of these things are factual things that were withheld by Jefferson County.

Thanks to Randy Brown for the maps and Terrence Boyce for crucial help with the imaging.
